A Review of UAGPPJA (2014)
If you have adult guardianship cases in which more than one state is involved, you will need to know about UAGPPJA (Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act). After this session, you will be able to identify the key provisions of the Uniform Act, understand how to use the Uniform Act to transfer an active guardianship case from one state to another without the need to re-litigate capacity, and recognize the key jurisdictional issues in an interstate guardianship contest and apply the provisions of the Uniform Act to jurisdictional facts. Presented as part of the 2014 Annual National Conference by Catherine Anne Seal, CELA, David M. English, University of Missouri, Columbia School of Law
