On Tuesday, September 18, the Department of Veteran’s Affairs published its final rule related to net worth, asset transfers, and income exclusions for needs-based benefits. The effective date is October 18. A prior alert incorrectly stated it as the 30th. The NAELA VA Task Force is reviewing the rules and will hold a webinar to brief members on the changes soon. NAELA will be holding a webinar on the new VA rule on October 11, 2018 at 2pm ET. For NAELA members who can't attend the webinar, it will be recorded and available for download.
