This virtual program, spread over three half-days, will be a very fast-paced review of the key components of the Social Security program, including the eligibility requirements for all benefits (retirement, survivors, and disability) under Titles II and XVI of the Social Security Act, with particular emphasis on the disability benefit programs. Day three will conclude with practical information every Elder Law attorney needs, including how to prepare SSA forms for redeterminations, how to discuss and prepare the client for the disability application process, how and when to appeal and what to expect in a financial criteria appeal, and more. All of this practical knowledge will be put to the test using real life case studies in the wrap-up.
