Scams have a devastating financial impact on older Americans, who lost more than $2.4 billion to scams in 2024. NAELA submitted a Statement for the Record to the Senate Special Committee on Aging in strong support of legislation to combat the growing number and increasingly sophisticated nature of scams targeting older adults.
